5 Leadership Concepts By Rudolph Guiliani
Get Motivated Seminar
Rudolph talked about the information revolution and five main ideas about leadership. He suggests everyone get involved and know how to use technology. This will help you not be left in the dust. He talked about being prepared. Having a plan helps you get through crises.
5 Leadership Principles
- Read: Specifically read books. Read so you can develop your own ideas.
- Listen: Listening is how you grow as a leader. Talk to people about things you want to learn and know. Copy what other successful people do.
- Debate: Get contrary opinions. Talk to people who disagree with you. I agree with him in the context that he was talking about. There are some absolutes in life. Some things are right and wrong and no amount of debate will change that.
- Write: Write down the pros and cons of your ideas.
- Relax and think: Individual thinking is what makes America the greatest nation on earth. Thinking is supremely important.
Public Speaking Skills
Public speaking is scary for most. Like anything it can be mastered and learned.

Some Ways To Develop Confidence
Four Models That Build Confidence
- Previous Performance Accomplishments: When you start out doing most things you will stink at it for a little while. But as you learn and stay with it you will have more successes. Past successes build confidence.
- Vicarious Experiences: Having coaches and mentors are important. If someone else can do it then it proves it can be done and you can do it also. Modeling what other successful have done to become successful with adapting the teachings to your unique way of doing things is important.
- Verbal Persuasion: Constantly fill your mind with truth so there is no room for doubt and fear.
- Physiological States: Your physical body needs to be healthy enough to perform the necessary work.

3 Stages Of Development
Craig Manning in his book The Fearless Mind talks about research that discovered people tend to go through three stages of development.
The stages of development
- Rapid growth
- Growth slows
- Growth completely stops
The reason why growth slows and possibly even stops is because you start to compare yourself to others. You begin to see everything you do as winning or losing or outcome objectives. You don't have control if you will win or not. All you have control over is the actions or tasks you will do that will create the conditions so you can win.
Step three happens when you have completely lost hope and stopped trying. You have considered yourself a failure, probably because you compared yourself to the success of someone else. In some cases you may compare yourself to another successful person without completely knowing their full story. You might not realize that they struggled more than you are or did to realize success.
Task Or Ego Driven
Are You Task Oriented or Ego Oriented? Which Is Better?
It is better to be task oriented. Task oriented people perform higher. If you are task oriented you are a task master.
If you are task oriented you focus on the task at hand. You are in the present. You check your ego at the door. You have more control and have more freedom with this orientation. You do not worry about the outcome so much as you focus on what you need to do each day to bring about your desired results. You are not worried about the future. You play to win with this paradigm.
Ego orientation is about the outcome. It is also referred to as outcome orientation. Winning is your motivation. Much of your efforts is done to bless other people.
A simple MLM example that Mike Klingler talks about in How I Built My First List is to not worry each day if you are not getting leads. You need to focus on building value and attracting business to you. If you worked constantly in the mindset of having to get leads, then you are operating in the ego orientation.
The Importance of Your Why
A lot is said about your why. It can go to the extreme. Ann Sieg in Renegade Network Marketer says that you can take the why a little too far. You also need to know the how.
Dr. Susan Jeffers in her book Feel the Fear And Do It Anyway talks about why people don't achieve high levels of success is because they don't focus on what they want. She also says that it amazing how fast you achieve when you know what you want. When you know what you want you are more determined to achieve it.
Jack Zufelt is a mentor who specializes in helping you know what you want. He feels similar to Susan Jeffers. You may not truly know what you want. On the surface this sounds ridiculous.
You might be saying to yourself, of course you know what you want. You can always refine your dream and make a part of you. Jack made a product specifically about this. Jack travels the world speaking and mentoring people.
His personal observation is people don't have a clear focus or dream for their life. His observation is like Dr. Susan Jeffers, most people don't have a strong dream or life purpose.
Jack Zufelt trademarked the phrase and idea "core desire." He preaches that goals don't work. It is not that goals are inherently wrong. He says your goals don't happen because they are not your real desire.
If a goal is a 10 on a 1 to 10 scale it will happen. Anything less than a 10 may or may not happen. A desire on a 10 is sure to happen because you will do whatever it takes to make it happen. Go to DNA of MLM Success for more training about core desires, and how to unleash this power in your life.
Wasted Energy
A key trait for high performers is not worrying about what you can't control because it is wasted energy. This applies in a number of ways. Guilt and fear are two ways this applies.
Do you feel guilty about your past? Are you having trouble leaving your past behind you? You no longer can do anything about your past.
Do you fear the future? Chances are your fears about the future will not happen. Your current actions help dictate your future.
Another aspect of this is with authority figures, the leaders. If you are a leader or when you become a leader you will wear yourself out if you fret over people not applying your information.
Some leaders go to every possible effort to help you apply the knowledge that has helped them make multi millions. Armand Morin is one of these individuals.
Armand Morin's AM2.0 is a wealth of knowledge.
AM2.0 has three levels. The middle level or the Gold level has a sequential point list which is a little over 100 points or tasks to accomplish. The nice part is you submit your completed task to Armand and he reviews it to ensure you did to his standard. You have essentially the best internet marketer in the world grading your work.
Armand also incentivizes you to complete the list. On occasion in certain seminars if you are in Gold and working on the list he puts your name in a drawing to win cash. It is only Gold members attending the seminar who get the money. In order to advance to platinum you must complete the entire list and be making a certain dollar figure.
He also has a competition called better your best. You set your own goals and Armand gives away a hefty 25K cash bonus to the winner.
You can't go wrong with joining AM2.0.
Giving Helps You Overcome Fear
The important ingredient with giving is not expecting anything in return. Much of your pain and suffering you experience is because of unmet expectations. If you give and expect something in return you are setting yourself up for failure. If you do this you will be more worried about if you receive enough in return. This is how giving with no expectations leads to little fear because it doesn’t matter if you are not validated. Giving with strings attached is a recipe for disappointment.
Attitude As It Relates To Your Past Present And Future
Attitude is a critical aspect for success. I have written in a previous blog that attitude is more important than skill or natural intelligence. I wrestled in high school and one of the state contender wrestlers decided to train with me one on one outside of practice. The coach told me that this star wrestler was not a naturally gifted wrestler when he started. He had a dogged determination to succeed and win. He worked twice as hard as anyone on the team and most likely harder than any of his opponents. His attitude is what made him top in his weight class.
Jim Rohn in his book The Five Major Pieces To The Life Puzzle, talks about attitude. He explains that attitude is developed from your past, present and future.
Past
The key with the past is not to beat yourself up about what happened to you. Use your past a learning experience and not something to condemn yourself over. You can't change your past. You don't have to let your future be dictated by your past. Your future is whatever you make of it.
Present
The key to your future is the present. Jim writes, "The present brings us an opportunity to create an exciting future. But the promise of the future demands that we pay a price in the present."
He says that your current situation is a result of your past choices. This means your future will be a result of your current choices.
Future
Your future is about vision. Nothing was made that was not first envisioned. Be a dreamer. Some say be realistic and others say whatever the mind can conceive can be achieved.
Kent Sayre the author of Unstoppable Confidence says never let anyone dictate your dreams. Never let anyone tell you something is not possible. He says if someone tells you that something is not possible, what they are really doing is revealing their own limitations and ignorance. They really mean that they can't do it.
Six Stages For Change
- Change is difficult and many people don't like it. This first stage you raise walls against change and deny there is a problem. You rationalize problems and put the blame on someone else. You refuse to believe there is a problem or don't even care to look for it. Generally it is some outside force that breaks you free of this confine. Something happens in your life to force you to deal with it. Maybe you have a hard time paying bills promptly. The first time a collector calls you because a bill was piled up under some paperwork and thus forgot about it is what forces you to change. There is no reason why you can't skip stage one completely in all your problems if you are in a habit of frequently analyzing your life, which is stage two.
- You begin to analyze your life in this stage, preferably on a daily, weekly and monthly basis. In this stage you are constantly reading, studying and talking about your issue. This is a critical stage and change can't happen without developing a plan. If you are stuck in this stage is because you are planning but not taking action. This is also where most procrastination occurs.
- This stage you start making decisions and commitments.
- You are finally taking action. You are actually taking action toward the decisions and commitments you made. This is where most of the anxiety happens because you are actually doing it and not thinking about it or planning it.
- This stage you are working on maintaining your new behavior. Rational thinking and relaxation helps you to maintain your behavior.
- You have terminated or overcame your bad habit and replaced it with a good habit. This stage is difficult because many people relapse into old bad habits. The good news is if you get to this point and overcome your bad habits but then return to it you don't have to start all over. You can start over on stage three or four, depending on if your plan for change is the same and you only need a little more discipline or if your original plan needs some tweaking then do that. Maybe your situation changed, or your plan was too unrealistic for your current abilities.
A Real Simple Time Management Tip
Distractions are probably one of the greatest threats to time management. Every time you start a project you have a choice to make. Do you entertain other issues that come up or do you only work on what you are doing. If the phone rings do you answer it. If you are working at home and your doorbell rings do you answer it. If your family is at home and they need you, do you help them.
Pick your battles. Know what the top most important task you need to do on a daily basis. For example if it is article marketing, make sure everyone knows you are doing something that you can't be interrupted for. You will only work on article marketing and nothing else. You will not answer the phone, you will not check email. You will not respond to any other ideas or thoughts that pop in your head, or at most you will jot it down to refer to it later but certainly not respond to it.
The challenge with responding to other ideas that pop into your head or other interruptions is because it takes more time than you realize to return to your task. Your mind is not in the groove anymore and it can be a challenge to get back into it.
In a perfect world you will only work on the one specific task you are doing 100 percent of the time and never attend to other ideas and have other people take care of your interruptions. This is not realistic all the time. The key is to at least be good at avoiding all distractions with your most important task. If you believe in multi-tasking, don't do it with your most important task.
It is impossible to think about two things at one time. Thoughts may come and go in a nano second, but you can't consciously think about building a business and a football game at the same time. One thought has to give way to the other.
Fear And High Performance
The Alpha Networker through Mike Dillard has a section about fears. Generally speaking your fears are not real; they are in your head. There are exceptions. Your gut feeling or conscious can warn you of danger but that is a different issue. I am talking about the kind of fear that keeps you from realizing your dreams and living the life you are meant to live.
Dr Craig Manning in his book The Fearless Mind explains why he thinks many don't realize their dreams and potential. He feels that most do not give their dreams a chance. He said he sees very few people give a good effort to realize their dreams. Most don't go for it hard enough. Many actually become high performers who give their dreams a serious effort.
He writes that becoming high performers is not something you wake up one morning and have. It is a process and you never completely arrive at it. You can always be knocked off your high performance platform if you slack off.
In Dr. Manning's book he had third party research from psychologists that many don't realize their dreams because they start strong but putter out and don't finish strong.
His research shows that hard work is the secret to success. It also has to be smart work. Being busy for busyness sake is not smart and will not lead to success. You need to do the right things. The internet multi millionaire Armand Morin preaches doing everything in order to build a massive business online.
Kent Sayre in his book Unstoppable Confidence gave a great acronym for FEAR. False Evidence Appearing Real.
The Law Of Free Agency
Free Agency Is Not Free: You Can't Choose The Consequences Of Your Actions
Freedom is the greatest gift and blessing in this world. America is the beacon of liberty to the entire world because of its political freedom.
One of the greatest opportunities is to be an agent unto yourself, the ability to create your own life. Many even in America live as slaves to someone else. Someone else dictates when they will wake up, when they can go home, how much money they will make, what kind of lifestyle they will live. Many are building the business of someone else and their profits.
Freedom is a double edged sword. Freedom gives you the ability to fail as well as succeed beyond your wildest dreams. The law of compensation is tied to the law of free agency. With free agency you don't have the right to choose the outcome of your choices. If you fail to pay the price for success then the consequences are failure. You can't do nothing and expect to succeed or for government to bail you out.
As your own boss many of your troubles will be because of your free agency. If you don't know how to manage yourself then you will pay dearly because you have free agency to wake up when you want, to do nothing during the day or be busy with activities that do not produce results, or constantly be distracted.
Free agency gives you the right to blame nobody but yourself.
Think of free agency as cause and effect. For every outcome you want you must do the specific tasks to make it happen. You have the free agency to make a million dollars, but only if you do the actions to make a million dollars.
The person with the most free agency is the person who is the master of self. Mastering self is a huge challenge for most. Freedom and free agency is like our capitalistic system, it is both a profit and loss system. It is a system for obtaining benefits and difficulties.

Some More Thoughts On Luck
Luck is dangerous because it implies someone else will bail you out. Armand Morin of AM2.0 in a recent seminar taught that you should run your business as if you were on a deserted island. He mentioned this in the context of not depending on joint ventures to run a successful business. Maxwell Maltz the author of the book The Magic Power Of Self Image Psychology explains that if you think of yourself as unlucky then you will probably give up.
Luck comes to those who take action.
The main point is luck is misleading. You create your own success. You can't wish a million dollars into your bank account. It doesn't mean you have to kill yourself either to be super rich. One of Dan Kennedy's teachings is to do something every day to attract business to you. Armand Morin teaches article marketing is super important to attract business to you.
An Inoculation Against Procrastination
Here is an interesting thought from Arthur Feidler,
"He who rests, rots."
These four words speaks volumes against procrastination. Nothing can replace the advantages that taking action will give you. A lot of successful people talk about luck and most will say that it came by taking action.
I don't think any entrepreneur has a sure knowledge when starting out if something will work out. They align themselves with mentors who have been there and are willing to jump in the unknown themselves.
The Secret To Being Unstoppable
Success is found in combining competence and confidence. Competence is knowing what you need to do and confidence is taking action. Nothing happens without taking action. A great success thought is success begets more success.
That doesn't mean you will never encounter obstacles. Jack Zufelt says that business is about solving problems.
First you need to know what you want. You need a vision.
Monitor your results: Know what is working for you and what is not working. Do more of what is working for you. If you are doing something that is not working, maybe you are not doing it correctly; which can be solved by education.
You continue to adjust and figure it out. Do different things, try different strategies. Find a mentor who has done it and knows step by step what needs to be done.
I recently returned from an Internet marketing seminar put on by Armand Morin an individual who has made millions and millions of dollars online and millions and millions more speaking. He gave a 45 point sequential list of what to do to make millions of dollars online. Building a list was number one, and after you brand yourself, the first business building strategy is article marketing.
Writing a few articles here and there is not good enough. Plan on writing one article essentially every day. Subscribe to a service such as Content Crooner who will push your articles out to hundreds of article directories. Post your article on your website. Connie Ragen Green is one of Armand's top students and is specializing in article marketing. She has put together an article marketing training program.
Roadblocks To Relaxation
Relaxation is important to relieve stress and to rejuvenate your batteries.
Here are two roadblocks that keep you from relaxing;
- Accepting your limitations: You have to realize that you are human and can only do and accomplish so much. You are not superhuman. Ask yourself if you would rather drive yourself into sickness and disease or relax with your human limitations and avoid health problems.
- Learn the healing power of forgiveness: You must forgive to feel good inside. Holding grudges will eat away at your soul. You cannot have peace of conscience in sin. Sin also affects your peace of mind. You can mask your peace of mind through self-help principles but only for a short period of time. Only repentance will bring both peace of conscience and peace of mind long term.
All Or Nothing
The problem with distorted thinking in general is it causes procrastination. Distorted thinking clouds your view. Everything you do and feel is first developed from your thoughts.
The attitude of all or nothing is a distortion of thinking. This is perfectionism. True, you don't want to be mediocre. No business and no product are perfect. Somebody if they tried hard enough could nit pick your product and find something wrong. So what. This is the person who also thinks everything is black and white. That is true when it comes to morality and integrity, but that is not the point of this blog post.
This kind of distorted thinking will cause one error to ruin the entire effort. Don't think everything has to be done perfect or not done at all.
When Mind Reading Is Bad
You may have had many bad experiences that you think you know what other people are thinking before they say anything.
You could be giving a public speech and you notice someone in the audience yawning or sleeping. Your immediate conclusion could be that you are either boring or that person is rude.
The truth could be he was up all night with his infant and he is in under incredible stress to finish a term paper. The room could also be hot. He doesn’t think you are boring. Outside environmental forces have overtaken him.
There are a ton of reasons why people do things, assuming you know why they do it only causes stress. You may take a hit to your self-esteem by coming to premature conclusions.
Some Thoughts On Luck And Success
On page 83 of my free ebook Inside The Minds Of Winners, Yanik Silver is asked what he thinks about luck and success.
Yanik said he believes you make your own luck especially if you are successful. Yanik doesn't believe in happenstance or haphazard events. If you are determined to succeed you will create the events or conditions that bring about luck. Obviously the more action you take the more chances luck will find you.
He commented on a principle that the Secret DVD discussed. When you set out to accomplish a goal especially if it is a core desire, your subconscious will figure out a way to make it happen. The Secret talked about it in a way that the universe will somehow come together to help you accomplish that goal.
Yanik Silver has some great products such as;

The Types of Procrastination
The two types of procrastination are;
Overarousal: This is the kind of person who is frequently overwhelmed with life. This is the person who feels a lot of anxiety. This is a person who cannot calm down. The outside environment greatly distracts them. They have a hard time tuning out outside influences.
Underarousal: This is the type of person who has a hard time maintaining attention. This may be you if you tend to start projects but not finish them.
Few procrastinators are purely both, most have a mix of the two. Why this information is important to you is because if you learn the traits that cause procrastination you can come up with a plan to overcome it. Procrastination is something that can be unlearned.
Expectancy Is About Achieving Your Desires
Inside The Minds of Winners a free e-book on page 11 has an article by Malcolm Harvey discussing expectancy. You can download this PDF on my giveaway page.
One of the greatest challenges in life is dealing with all the negative messages. Maybe as a child you were programmed more for failure than success. As a child you might have received infinitely more messages that you can't do or accomplish something than what you can do.
Ponder this quote, "reality is in the moment; everything else is YOUR interpretation of that reality."
What does that mean? If someone fills your head with doubt and fear, you have two choices.
1. Realize you are in the moment and let it wash over you
Or Worse
2. Hold on to that doubt for days to come.
If you follow number two it will be like carrying heavy bricks around your neck.
Faith and doubt can't coexist together, one or the other must leave. Having a conviction is an important ingredient in doing all in your power to make a dream happen. If you are "wishy-washy" you will be easily influenced by opposition. Conviction is difficult if you are filled with doubt, which also keeps you from doing the work necessary for success.
Failing Is Not Failure Until You Quit
The 24 Best MLM Articles Ever Written a free e-book discusses failure on page 26. You can access it on my giveaway page. It discusses how you recognize winners and successful people. Generally you will fail in the beginning. "Winners are always losers, failures and rejects. At first."
You can identify the great ones by how they managed their failures. This article also says that failure is for the elite. People of action and discipline fail, but those same qualities are why they eventually succeed.
The bottom line is failure happens to everyone, and the secret is not to let your failures keep you down. The successful know how to get up when they are knocked on their faces.
You are not a failure until you quit.
Overcoming Obstacles
Inside The Minds of Winners a free e-book on page 49 discusses some ideas on how to overcome obstacles and achieve your goals. You can download this ebook on my free giveaway page.
- Envy: Do not look at the success of others with bitterness. The scarcity mentality fosters the envious mindset. An important wealth mindset is to know there is an unlimited supply.
- Think something positive about another and desiring the best for him improves your own character.
- Recognize when you have negative thoughts and change it. Your feelings are a good indication when your thoughts or attitudes have gone astray.
- Don’t judge events as good or bad. Every challenge is a learning experience.
- Cut out the buts and ifs. Don’t make excuses and realize you are a co-creator with God.

How To Overcome A Bad Habit
Almost everyone has some kind of a bad habit. It might not be a serious one, and it might not cause too much pain and suffering. Every bad habit will cause a degree of stress. The less stress you have the better.
Here are three ideas to overcome a bad habit;
- Believe that you can turn weaknesses into strengths: Believe that you can change. Believe that God's best work is in helping you improve yourself.
- Replacement: Fill in the gap with something better. Pick up a good habit in place of your bad habit.
- Discover the source of the problem: The truth will set you free. You can only overcome the bad habit if you understand the root cause of it. Get to the base of it, to the very core of the issue. Don't deal with it on the surface.
Why Reading Is So Important
A person who can read but doesn't is no better than the person who can't read.
Reading is essential to your success. Dan Kennedy also stresses the importance of this habit. He suggests reading one book per week.
Everything you need to know to become successful is already out there. Successful people have written down their story and their secrets to how they became successful.
Reading one book per week will give you expert status.
Becoming an expert is a must in any kind of business that requires team building. Network Marketing is a prime example. People flock to the leaders. The leaders have the most skills and the most knowledge to help you out.
Deep down inside is not becoming a leader yourself really what you want.
One writer has said there are only two people in the world, the leaders and the followers.
The leaders make the most money and make the most difference in the world. It is in your best interest to become a leader yourself.
The Law of Self Supervision
The law of self supervision is complete control over self. Many people if they didn't have a boss to tell them what to do they wouldn't know what to do.
A lot of people can work and a little less can work and manage and very few can work, manage and plan. Very few people can work out a plan and carry it out. It is often said that a small percentage of the population make most of the money. This law very well could be one of the reasons.
The person who can stand on his own two feet and overcome all obstacles is the person who sees the most success and is the happiest.
Sterling W. Sill said, "Success lies largely in the ability to handle ourselves."
Self Imposed Limitations
You are your greatest enemy. You put more limitations on yourself than does anyone else or the environment. Here are at least three limitations;
- Procrastination: The big problem with procrastination is it builds up on itself. Letting something go one day may not seem like such a bad thing, but what happens is it is left undone for long periods of time. It costs you money if you are a home based business owner.
- Blame: Take responsibility for yourself. You will not be successful if you blame someone else for your mistakes and weaknesses. It is easy to blame outside forces, because it means you don't have to face your own weaknesses and failures.
- Excuses: Excuses are similar to blame. Your excuses are preventing you from becoming the kind of person that you can become. And making the kind of money that you are capable of making.
Every Thought Effects You
There is no such thing as a thought that doesn't make an impact. The subconscious mind doesn't know the difference between intentional thoughts or unintentional thoughts.
Your subconscious mind doesn't know the seriousness of your thoughts. Your subconscious mind is designed to fulfill whatever you put into it. Undisciplined minds results in lack of progression.
The person who constantly hears negative words and thinks negative thoughts will have negative experience.
The Law Of Courage
You have two personalities, one that you were born with and another that you develop during life. Courage is something you develop.
If you want to be wealthy, you must develop courage.
Courage is the ability to plan and stick to your plan no matter what. Courage is the power to overcome any obstacle that keeps you from completing your plan.
Sterling W. Sill said, "Our greatest fear should not be that our lives will someday come to an end, but rather that they may never have a beginning."
Opposition, problems and challenges are a critical component in life because without them you will never have the chance to develop courage. It is important to know what you are made of.
Faith is the belief that you can accomplish whatever you seek out to do. You would not do something if you knew you would fail. Without developing courage from the small tasks, you will not have the faith to do important things.
Courage is made from the small things, the small successes of every day life. Making to do lists is an example of developing courage. If you are like some you put so many tasks on your list that it is impossible to do them all. Not all items on your list will be a must do. You must accomplish your must do list to build courage.
The more successes you have with courage, eventually you will have the power to do the impossible.
Don't think there is something wrong with you if you are facing challenges. Be grateful for your challenges and the opportunity you have to prove to yourself that you can overcome.
When you finally master courage you will have power and success beyond your dreams.
Do what you say you will do and plan no matter what. Not doing what you said you would do and committed to yourself eats at your soul.
The Law of Self-Control
Sterling W. Sill says "self-control is the most effective means to any kind of success, power, and happiness."
One of the greatest works you can do is to train your spirit to master your body. That is the ultimate form of self control. Self control can also be thought of as your mind controlling your body.
For example; how many times has your alarm clock gone off and instead of moving you clicked snooze. I still do it too much. Are you afflicted with distractions; those little things in life that have little importance but seem to shout at you and somehow stare you in the face and will not stop pestering you.
Ignoring those stalking distractions is at the heart of self-control.
Your ability to do what you need to do when you need to do it is self-control.
